Hi ! my name is Cloud Jar. I grew  up in the Philippines. We moved a lot. From Tanay Rizal where I was born, to Pasay City, to the Barrio of Mabitac called Matalatala, Famy , and Nagcarlan where I spent my last years before moving to Canada. I met a lot of inspiring people. Friends and foes. Life was tough but fun.
My dad went abroad when I was a little, and left me with a bunch of CDs and cassettes that first got me into music. Was left with my mom who is really into art (drawing, fashion design) and my younger brother. I've been exposed to a lot of genres from the music that I was spoon fed, to my personal taste. I joined Rondalla when I was on the  4th grade  and learned how to play the Banduria that ignited my passion for music. Later got into playing guitar and played in a junior church band. Learned to play a little bit of everything...  guitar , piano, drums, singing . .. learned enough to write my own songs. 

My dad came back from Saudi and we started a small business but it's not enough for us, so my mom decided to go to Canada to work and lived with my grandparents and my aunt's family.
 
After 5 years of waiting, we finally migrated to Canada in 2014. We're so happy to be with each other, though I felt lost. I tried my best to cope with the biggest change in my life and tried to look for my self. I always have the urge to express my self. Art (Music, drawing, filming, photography, poetry, etc...) is my favorite way to do it. I realized that I wanna make music. I've been in a couple of unsuccessful bands, and realized I'll accomplish and express my self even better if I go solo. In 2017 I decided to spend more time with my crafts and started to get more serious and build a career out of it, hoping that It'll turn out to something awesome. And that's how Cloud Jar started...

Genre

Expect the unexpected. Cloud Jar is a band with 3 members ( me, myself and I ) who has no intention of staying the same. Just like my heroes, I will never stop experimenting. I'm always having trouble thinking of what genre should I tell people, but I realized that it's okay! I have a lot of music influences, and I'm gonna write whatever the fuck I want!! Though Alternative Pop, R&B and Electronic Metal is my core, expect me to fuse it with other music styles. 

Cloud Jar is a unique blend of Alternative/Indie rock and  alternative hip hop. Expect me to fuse rap rock/nu metal, punk, funk, psychedelic rap/ rock , emo pop, Blah blih, Bla blah, barabim, barabum, electronic rock and many more. I love the freedom of not sticking to a specific genre, and I believe that artists must be free from being labeled.

Music influences

I listen to classical music a lot when I was young, my mom got me into it,..  Plus The Carpenters, Frank Sinatra, Engelbert, Paul Anka and ughh. .. unfortunately I can't even remember the names of all the bands and artists that my mom spoon fed me. 
Same with my dad, but he's more into rock and new wave. The bands/ artists that I still remember are The Beatles, The B-52's, The Cure, Bread, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, Michael Jackson, and a loooot more. I can sing along to their songs but I don't know the titles and the artists :( 

Lately when I discovered the internet and free music, I began to take my own path and got my own favorite artists and bands. I've been heavily influenced by Linkin Park, Eminem, Bring me the Horizon, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, My Chemical Romance, Fall out boy, Korn,  Twenty one Pilots, etc. .. Also with a lot of Filipino bands and Artists like Rivermaya, Eraserheads, Bamboo, Parokya ni Edgar, Callalily, Chicosci, Sponge Cola, Francis M., Glock 9, Loonie, Ron Henley and a whole lot more. I wish I can mention all of em'. 
 

 

 

 

 

What am I up to ? 
I just release my first NFT Collections! It's definitely a huge step forward for my artist career, be sure to check them out!
I have been actively posting on Instagram, Youtube and Tiktok. I upload videos, posts, stories, updates, etc... They are my main Social Medias, so be sure to follow me there to not miss out!

I'm mostly working on song writing and music production right now, but when the time is right, I'll definitely start playing live shows. But for now, I'm sticking with my plan and build my online presence. I'll be releasing an ALBUM, but I'll release them one by one as SINGLES. I do upload covers, vlogs and short video clips to show what's happening behind the  scenes of my journey, so follow me on my socials so you don't miss out!

I'm trying to do everything on my own from song writing, recording, mixing ,mastering, producing , graphic content, editing, website, blog, marketing etc... It is something that will always brag. It might be a disadvantage because it's really time consuming, but I see it as an advantage because I enjoy everything I'm doing and it helps me express myself even more. 

The good thing about being solo/ independent artists is that their art is purely from them, and it's more intimate that way since they have more control on even the tiniest details, and the ideas are coming from one person instead of a group.
 

I founded Cloud Jar on March 2017 and I've learned a lot from the past few years. I'm pretty new to the game but I want to show the world what I'm capable of. The Art pieces I'm working on are dedicated to all of us. It's for the people. It's my pleasure to be able to share my perspective and reality to everyone. To make them feel that someone understands. To "comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable". To give the music and art that can numb the pain of living. To inspire people and other artists, and hopefully be able to collaborate with them towards the same goals:
Make art and music to bring people together, inspire, help in the expansion of consciousness, and share the weight of the world.
